1.
In our hearts your memory lingers,
sweetly tender, fond and true.
There is not a day dear Father,
that we do not think of you.
2.
Because in life he was saintly,
in his heart he was loving and pure.
His reward is a place in Heaven,
our grief we must endure.
3.
Your smile has gone forever,
your hand we cannot touch.
We have so many memories
of you, Mum, we loved so much.
4.
You were a loving husband,
a friend, so good and true.
A better husband never lived,
your equals are but few.
5.
In life I loved you dearly,
in death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place,
that no one could ever fill.
6.
Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory,
they’ll live on in the heart.
7.
Your life was one of kindly deeds,
a helping hand for others needs.
Sincere and true in heart and mind,
beautiful memories left behind.
8.
As I journey toward life’s sunset,
mourning him who went before.
Faith assures me, I’ll be with him,
when I reach the other shore.
9.
A part of me she took with her
but her love she left me to keep.
So we will never really be parted,
the bond is just too deep.
10.
Those we hold most dear never truly leave us.
They live on in the kindness they showed,
the comfort they shared, and the love
they brought into our lives.
11.
Now the labourer’s task is over,
now the battle day is past.
Now upon the farther shore
lands the voyager at last.
12.
Because in her life she was saintly,
in her heart she was loving and pure.
Her reward is a place in Heaven,
our grief we must endure.
13.
There comes a time for all of us
when we must say good-bye.
But faith and hope and love and
trust, can never ever die.
14.
As each day dawns we think of you,
as each night falls, we pray for you and
throughout our lives, no matter where,
in our hearts you are always there.
15.
Never say goodbye to love
and let it pass away. Always
hold me in your heart and
think of me each day.
16.
Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on, and
cherished memories never fade
because a loved one’s gone.
17.
They say there is a reason,
they say that time will heal.
But neither time or reason,
will change the way we feel.
18.
Those we love don’t go away,
they walk beside us every day,
unseen, unheard, but always near,
still loved, still missed and very dear.
19.
Until we meet again, may God
hold you in the palm of his hand.
20.
If tears could build a stairway,
and memories a lane, I’d walk
right up to heaven and bring
you home again.
21.
Looking back with memories,
upon the path you trod. We bless
the hours we had with you and
will leave the rest with God.
22.
All I ask is that you will remember
me at Mass and Holy Communion.
O Mary conceived without sin, pray
for us who have recourse to thee.
23.
A part of me she took with her
but her love she left me to keep.
So we will never really be parted,
the bond is just too deep.
24.
A silent thought, a quiet prayer,
for a special person in God’s care.
25.
We honour you for whom you were
and the special things you’ve done…
that made your life so rewarding
and made you such a special woman.
26.
Deep are the memories,
precious they stay;
no passing of time,
can take them away.
27.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things, I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
28.
Just a prayer from the ones who
loved you, Just a memory fond
and true, In our hearts you will
live forever, Because we thought
29.
There comes a time we all must part but
you left too soon and broke our hearts.
We know that you are now at peace,
our thoughts of you will never cease.
Too dearly loved to be forgotten.
30.
Gone are the days we used to share
but in our hearts you are always there.
The gates of memory will never close
we miss you more than anyone knows.
31.
We hold you close within our hearts,
And there you shall remain. To walk
with us throughout our lives,
until we meet again...
32.
If we could have a lifetime wish
and a dream that could come true.
We would pray to God with all our
hearts, just to see and speak to you.
33.
Time cannot steal the treasures
that we carry in our hearts. With
tender love and deep regret we
who love you and will never forget.
34.
Things I feel most deeply
are the hardest things to say.
Dear Dad, I loved you always,
in my own very special way.
If I could have one lifetime wish,
one dream that could come true.
I’d pray to God with all my heart,
someday I’ll be with you.
35.
Our Mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart.
She planted all good things
that gave our lives a start.
She turned us to the sunshine,
the seeds of what we'll be.
We are our mother's garden.
We are her legacy.
36.
I'll never find another friend
to take the place of you. No
one will ever touch my life
exactly like you do. No one
who's quite so thoughtful,
no one I cherish so. No one
will mean so much to me;
I just wanted you to know.
37.
We lost a dad with a heart of gold.
How much we miss him can never
be told. He shared our troubles
and helped us along. If we
follow his footsteps, we
will never go wrong.
38.
Please. God, forgive a silent tear,
a fervent wish our Dad was here.
There are others, yes we know,
but he was ours and we loved him so.
Dear God, please take a message
to our Father in Heaven above.
Tell him how much we miss him
And give him all our love.
39.
If roses grow in Heaven Lord,
please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her much
And when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
40.
Don’t weep at my grave,
for I am not there. I’ve a
date with a butterfly to
dance in the air. I’ll be
singing in the sunshine,
wild and free, playing
tag with the wind, while
I’m waiting for thee.
41.
When we remember your smile,
it brightens up our day. And
thoughts of your warmth and
love, always smooth the way.
Your gentle spirit is still with us,
though you maybe gone.
Sunny days and cool breezes,
always for you dear Mum.
42.
Please. God, forgive a silent tear,
a fervent wish our Dad was here.
There are others, yes we know,
but he was ours and we loved him so.
Dear God, please take a message
to our Father in Heaven above.
Tell him how much we miss him
And give him all our love.
43.
If roses grow in Heaven Lord,
please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her much
And when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
44.
No farewell words were
spoken, no time to say goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it,
and only God can tell us why.
It broke my heart to lose you
but you didn’t go alone,
for part of me went with you,
the day God called you home.
45.
Beautiful things in this life
are manifold it’s true. We
count the stars by thousands,
the birds and flowers too.
The sunsets and dawnings,
rare beauties far and near,
but all the wide world over,
there’s just one ‘Mother Dear.’
46.
O gentle and loving Saint Anthony,
you whose heart was ever full of
human sympathy, whisper my prayer
to the ears of the infant Jesus, who
loved to linger in your arms. One
word from you and my prayer will
be granted. Speak that word and the
gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.
47.
May you always walk in sunshine
and God’s love around you flow.
For the happiness you gave us,
no one will ever know.
It broke our hearts to lose you
but you did not go alone.
A part of us went with you,
the day god called you home.
48.
It’s so strange that those in need
and those we love the best,
are just the ones God called away
and took them home to rest.
But every time I think of Dad
I seem to hear God say:
“Have faith and trust my Promise
You’ll meet again some day”.
49.
If we had all the world to give,
we’d give it, yes, and more.
To hear his voice, to see his smile
and greet him at the door.
But all we can do dear father,
is go and tend your grave.
And leave behind tokens of love
To the best Dad that God made.
50.
God saw you getting tired,
and a cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around you
and whispered, “Come to Me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away, and
although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
51.
Life is but a stopping place,
a pause in what’s to be,
a resting place along the
road, to sweet eternity.
Our destination is a place,
far greater than we know.
For some the journey’s quicker,
for some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally
ends we’ll claim a great reward,
and find an everlasting peace,
together with the Lord.
52.
I am home in heaven, dear ones.
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is a perfect joy and beauty
in the everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
safely home in heaven at last.
There is work still waiting for you,
so you must not idly stand,
do it now, while life remaineth . . .
You shall rest in God’s own land.
When that work is all completed,
he will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting
Oh, the joy to see you come!
53.
I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done,
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing
times and bright and
summer days.
I’d like the tears of those who
grieve, to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done.
54.
Right now I'm in a different place
and though we seem apart.
I'm closer than I ever was
I'm there inside your heart.
I'm with you when you greet each day
and while the sun shines bright
I'm there to share the sunsets too,
I'm with you every night
I'm with you when the times are
good to share a laugh or two,
and if a tear should start to fall
I'll still be there for you
And when that day arrives
that we no longer are apart.
I'll smile and hold you close to me
forever in my heart.
55.
You’ve just walked on ahead of us
and we’ve got to understand.
We must release the ones we love
and let go of their hands.
We try to cope the best we can
but we’re missing you so much.
If we could only see you
and once more feel your touch.
Yes, you’ve just walked on ahead of us.
Don’t worry we’ll be fine
But now and then I swear I feel
Your hands slip into mine.
56.
In tears we saw you sinking,
and watched you pass away.
Our hearts were almost broken,
we wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping,
so peaceful, free from pain.
How could we wish you back
with us, to suffer that again?
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
the day God took you home.
57.
I’ve lost my life’s companion,
A life linked with my own,
you’re still mine to remember,
a husband proud to own.
Many a tear I’ve shed since I lost you,
many more will continue to fall,
you took my happiness with you,
the happiest hours of all.
Thus shall I walk with you
and keep the bond that love doth give,
knowing that remembrance,
though unspoken,
shall reach you wherever you live.
58.
I’ll lend you for a little while,
a child of mine God said.
For you to love her while she lives
and mourn for when she’s dead.
It may be six or seven years,
or forty two or three.
But will you, ‘til I call her back,
take care of her for me. She’ll
bring her charms to gladden you
and should her stay be brief.
You’ll always have her memories
as a solace for your grief.
59.
Feel no guilt in laughter,
I know how much you care.
Feel no sorrow in a smile,
that I’m not here to share.
But let the memories comfort
you, a word someone my say
will suddenly recapture
a time, an hour, a day
that brings me back as clearly
as though I were still here.
And fills you with the feelings
that I’m always near. For
if you keep those moments
we’ll never be apart.
And I will live forever
locked safe within your heart.
60.
Your gentle face and patient smile‚
with sadness we recall. You had a
kindly word for each and died
beloved by all. The voice is
mute and stilled the heart‚
that loved us well and true.
Ah‚ bitter was the trial to part
from one as good as you.
You are not forgotten loved one
nor will you ever be
As long as life and memory last
we will remember thee.
We miss you now our hearts are sore‚
as time goes by we miss you more.
Your loving smile‚ your gentle face
no one can fill your vacant place.
61.
I often lie awake at night
when the world is fast asleep.
I think about the sister I love
with tears upon my cheeks.
I can’t get over losing you
no matter how I try. I will
always keep you in my
heart until the day I die.
You were that special sister
that many were a fond.
But no one had, what we had,
a Sister’s special bond.
62.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who
fled to thy protection, implored thy help,
or sought thine intercession was left
unaided. Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my
mother; to thee do I come, before
thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in thy
mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
63.
Don’t grieve for me, for I’m free,
I’m following path God made for me.
I took his hand, I heard him call,
then turned and bid farewell to all.
I could not stay another day
to laugh, to love, to sing, to play,
tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found my peace…at close of play
and if my parting left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
ah yes, these things I too will miss.
64.
Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland,
you gave hope to your people in a time
of distress and comforted them in sorrow.
You have inspired countless pilgrims to
pray with confidence to your divine Son,
remembering His promise: “Ask and you
shall receive, seek and you shall find”.
Help me to remember that we are all
pilgrims on the road to heaven. Fill me
with love and concern for my brothers
and sisters in Christ, especially those
who live with me. Comfort me when I
am sick, lonely or depressed. Teach me
how to take part ever more reverently
in the Holy Mass. Pray for me now,
and at the hour of my death. Amen
65.
We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name,
in life we loved you dearly,
in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
